Hey there!
Hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July! We had a wonderful weekend/beginning of the week celebrating our anniversary, The Hubby’s bday, then Independence day!
AND I’m definitely feeling it today! A few too many Frose’s yesterday, treats and several late nights have me dragging a little today. It was all much enjoyed and worth it but today I’m in full recovery mode
Anyway, like I said in my last post, I’m hoping to pop in a bit more frequently now that I’m not spending all my free time studying. More on that in a minute In case you missed that last post, you can check it out here and read up on some happenings in our lives lately. Nothing too exciting just a quick family update.
Today I thought I’d touch on a few reasons why I decided to take a little hiatus from blogging. It wasn’t one of those things that happened on purpose but just sort of the way things went. However, when I really thought about it, there were a few concrete reasons why I found myself choosing to not blog for several months. Since a few of my loyal readers have asked, I figured I’d share those with you all today.
1 – Most obvious reason is this little muffin!
Having a baby adds a whole new crazy to anyones life. Adding a baby as busy as this little guy has definitely proven to be somewhat of a challenge for us. Oh man does he keep us on our toes!! Of course we LOVE it all but it’s definitely been a bit of a struggle trying to balance two kiddos vs. one. It’s nice that The Love Nugget is old enough to entertain himself for the most part. However, it’s also hard because it’s easier to neglect him since he’s able to do so much more independently. It’s easy to tell him to go do something by himself when the little guy is sleeping instead of spending that time alone with him because he is so capable. So I’m constantly reminding myself that he still needs attention, especially one on one time from both mom and dad. Parenting is a constant work in progress!
2. I wanted to be respectful to others suffering from infertility. Since I blogged about my journey with my fertility struggles for several years, I know I picked up quite a few readers who were going through very similar struggles. I know for me personally it was hard sometimes when I was going through a miscarriage or tough time with infertility, to read another bloggers page sharing constant baby updates and pictures. Of course I was happy for them but it was just something that I personally found a bit hard at times. So I wanted to be sensitive to others feelings and emotions. With that said for the past year most of my life has been filled with all things baby as are most peoples when they have a baby. So when I did hop on to actually blog, I found my instant reaction was to start talking about our little muffin and the going ons of motherhood. So I just decided to keep the majority of baby updates and overshare off the blog for the time being. I still shared on IG and Facebook for friends and family though
3. Last, most of my free time was spent studying away for the NASM Certified Personal Trainers Exam! As most of you know by now, I took it not too long ago and passed!!!!! I can’t wait to share more about what I plan to do from here on out with you all so stay tuned for that!
xoxo
